Project title: Yugoslav Wars: Another Face of European Civilisation? Lessons Learnt and Enduring Challenges
Project acronym: Yu_Eu
List of partner organisations:
• Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” (Italy) – Applicant organisation
• Univerzitet u Kragujevcu (Serbia)

• Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (Czech Republic)
The international project Yugoslav Wars: Another Face of European Civilisation? Lessons Learnt and Enduring Challenges (= Project) is co-funded by the European Union within the “Europe for Citizens” programme. The Project is guided by the “Sapienza” University of Rome and involves the University of Kragujevac, the “Ramon Llull” University of Barcelona and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (Prague) as partners.
The University of Kragujevac and the other partners enthusiastically accepted the invitation to participate in the realisation of a project devoted to such a demanding and complex theme, since they firmly believe that reflection and dialogue among citizens, institutions, peoples – a dialogue which is culturally engaged, but which at the same time addresses a wider public – are absolutely necessary tools for creating and developing a culture of peace representing the foundation for a better future for individuals, citizens, and peoples they belong to.
In this context, the cooperation among universities from different countries and between universities and other public and private institutions may play a very important role, which transcends the narrower limits of academic life.
